Adventures with Sami

Sami and I have been married for almost three years (our anniversary is next week!) and in that time we have both been freelancers and hustlers and two people very dedicated to travel and adventure. I truly do not think that in these past three years we have ever spent eight consecutive weeks at home. It has been so good and in a lot of ways it has been exactly what we didn't know we needed but in other ways it has been surprisingly hard.

Our relationship thrives off of spontaneity and adventure, it's just in our blood. I cannot even count how many times we have been sitting on the couch, look at each other with this one specific look and within minutes, we are in the car with a bag packed and no plan. There's an app called Hotel Tonight and it is an app for last minute hotel reservations. It's basically made for people like us who wander into a city at 5pm and decide to stay the night and it is probably our most used app. We love wandering and exploring and adventuring (is that a word?). But quarantine has taken a lot of that out of the picture.

Until a few days ago…

We were working in separate rooms and Sami called me over and said “ok, just hear me out…” which is usually the line that falls at the beginning of all of her best plans. She went on to say something like “you know how we were supposed to be in mexico city for our anniversary and we were supposed to go on a road trip and we were supposed to… (she went on at length about all of the plans that have changed for us this season) and then she told me that she misses our adventures and our spontaneity and that she found something that could bring it back even in quarantine and she looked at me with that same look and next thing in knew, we were on our way to pick up these very bad ass electric bikes that we have literally been on every single day since! They totally are our sense of adventure and wonder in this time! We put a basket on one and we have packed it with margaritas and a speaker and taken sunset rides - it has been the best! Not to mention… they make us look way cooler than we actually are.

So, these days you can find us wandering the streets of Pasadena on these sweet bikes ready for our next adventure and to all of you who are reading this - I strongly encourage you to find some adventure of your own. Just because it doesn't look like it did before, doesn't mean it is lost! Stay wild, stay amazed and get out there and have some freaking fun!

Xoxo, Beans
