Ok so since we were in our homes for a year, it really became the year of DIY. People were making puzzles, Sami and I tried our hand at making candles, people made masks but one homemade thing that I love more than all is my friend Paul’s recipe for homemade deodorant! Seriously deodorant has so many strange ingredients so this homemade version is easy and also better for your pits! So if you’re looking for your next DIY - here you go!

Ready for some homemade deodorant that actually works?!

What you need:

  • Arrowroot Powder: 3 oz

  • Baking Soda: 1.5 oz

  • Coconut Oil: 3 oz

  • Shea Butter: 2 oz

  • Essential Oil of your choice for additional scent (3-4 drops): this ingredient is optional—  I've used Lavender, Tea Tree, White Sage, or nothing additional at all.

What to do:

1. Mix the dry ingredients together

2. Mash up/Mix the Oil/Butter together

3. Mix everything together in a bowl for about a minute or until it all comes together in a paste texture, a fork or your hands works well for this.

Note: I've seen some recipes where the Coconut Oil and Shea Butter are melted together before adding the dry ingredients, but I find the texture turns out better at the end if you just keep them at room temperature when mixing them together (using a fork to mash them up).

4. Put it in a cute container and apply with your hands daily.
