Weekly Recipe: Takeout Chicken

I am assuming we are not the only ones who have been craving and ordering lots of takeout over the past six months. Well, lately I have been trying to recreate the meals that we crave from ordering out because typically, if you can make it at home it will be a lot cheaper and hopefully a little healthier too and you can have a little more fun. So, this recipe was my attempt at combining like three different kinds of chicken we get from three different places - lol - I call this recipe “Takeout Chicken”

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 1-ish pounds of boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts if you prefer)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt + Pepper

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 4 garlic cloves minced

  • 3 1/2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • Fresh chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

WHAT TO DO:

  1. Cut the chicken into bite size pieces

  2. Salt and pepper the chicken to your desired state

  3. Heat up the olive oil in a pan and add chicken

  4. Add half of the butter

  5. In a separate bow, melt the rest of the butter then add the garlic, honey, apple cider vinegar and mix together

  6. When the chicken starts to brown, add in the sauce mixture and stir it all up!

  7. Let it all keep cooking together until chicken is done and the sauce gets a little crispy!

  8. Serve it over rice or cauliflower rice or some noodles or a salad - seriously, put this chicken over anything it's so delicious!
